You've found a phone at a good price. It looks clean in the photos. The listing says "refurbished". And then the doubt arrives: what's actually wrong with it? Has the battery already lost half its life? Did someone open it up and put a cheap screen in? Will it work perfectly for three weeks and then start playing up?
Those aren't paranoid questions. They're the right questions. And in the UAE's used electronics market they're hard to answer, because most listings tell you almost nothing about the specific device you're buying.
Here's what happens to every phone before it appears on our store — and why we've stopped using the word most of our competitors lead with.
"Refurbished" doesn't mean what most people think
In the UAE, "refurbished" gets used loosely. It appears on listings for devices that were tested and cleaned, and equally on devices that were opened, repaired, and fitted with replacement parts.
Those are very different products, and the second one carries risks the first doesn't. A replacement screen may be a third-party panel with different colour accuracy or touch response. A replacement battery may be an uncertified cell. Once a device has been opened, water resistance is rarely what it was, and the original manufacturer's certifications no longer strictly apply.
We don't refurbish. Our devices are original units — never opened, never repaired, no parts swapped. Every component in the phone you receive is the component it left the factory with.
If you want to know how to check that for yourself on any device, our guide to spotting a genuine used or refurbished phone walks through the physical and software checks anyone can run before handing over money.
What we do instead is test them thoroughly and tell you exactly what we found.
That's a deliberate choice, and it's why we describe our stock as used or pre-owned rather than refurbished. It's the accurate word, and accuracy is the point.
What every device goes through
Identity and status check. Before anything else, we confirm the device is what it claims to be and is clear to sell. We run the device's unique IMEI through regional and international databases to guarantee it hasn't been blacklisted, reported lost, or stolen. We also verify that all previous user accounts and activation locks (like iCloud or Google FRP) are completely removed. When you turn it on, it’s a clean slate.
Screen and touch accuracy. The display is checked for dead pixels, discolouration, burn-in, and pressure marks. Touch response is tested across the full panel, not just the centre, because edge response is where degraded digitisers usually show first.
Cameras and sensors. Every lens is tested — main, ultra-wide, telephoto, and front — along with autofocus, stabilisation, and flash. Proximity, ambient light, gyroscope, and accelerometer sensors are checked, since a failed proximity sensor is one of the most common faults buyers only discover on their first phone call.
Speakers, microphones, and buttons. Earpiece and loudspeaker are tested for output and distortion. Microphones are checked on both recording and calls. Every physical button and switch is cycled.
Ports and charging. The charging port is inspected for wear, corrosion, and debris, then tested for connection stability with both wired charging and data transfer. Wireless charging is verified where the model supports it.
Battery health check. This is where we differ most from the rest of the market. Most sellers promise a minimum — "85% or above", "90% guaranteed". A minimum tells you the worst case, not what you're getting.
We measure the actual battery health of the individual unit and publish that number on its product page. If it reads 100%, the listing says 100%. If it reads 89%, the listing says 89%. You know before you buy, not after.
If you're wondering how a used phone holds up over time, we tested that separately in do refurbished phones last?
Connectivity. Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC are each tested. We also record whether the device is a UAE variant, which matters for network band compatibility and for eSIM support.
Data wiping. Every device is fully erased before it's listed. [CONFIRM: state your wiping method and standard here — e.g. "using a certified erasure process that meets [standard], with a verification report per device."]
All of this runs through Phone Check, an independent diagnostic platform. The full report for each device is accessible by QR code on its product page — you can scan it and read the results yourself rather than taking our word for anything.
Cosmetic grading — the second number
Testing covers whether a phone works. Grading covers how it looks.
We assess cosmetic condition and publish a wear percentage alongside the grade, so "Excellent" isn't just a word you have to interpret. A device listed at 2% wear has light micro-marks visible at certain angles. One at 15% has visible scratches you'd notice in normal use.
Our grades are Like New, Excellent, Very Good, and Good. Each product page states the grade, the measured wear figure, and specific notes about the individual device.

Cleaning and packaging
Testing and grading handle the mechanics and the aesthetics. Then comes the detailing.
Every device undergoes a thorough cleaning and sanitisation process before it leaves our facility. We use electronics-safe cleaning solutions and microfiber detailing to safely lift away dirt and smudges from the display, chassis, and camera housings. We don't just wipe the surface, either. Using precision air and fine-tipped tools, we carefully clear out the charging port, speaker grilles, and earpiece. This isn't just about hygiene—clearing the ports ensures your charging cable seats perfectly, and cleaning the grilles restores maximum audio clarity.
When it comes to shipping, your device arrives in a custom, impact-resistant 2USE box designed to keep it completely secure in transit. Inside, you’ll find exactly what you need to get started: the device itself, a SIM ejector tool, and a brand-new, high-quality charging cable.
To help reduce electronic waste and align with modern factory standards, we do not include the wall charging block—just the cable you need to power up and get going.
What protects you after purchase
Every device carries a 12-month 2USE warranty covering hardware failure, and a 7-day return window if the device doesn't match the grade it was sold under. Full terms are set out in our FAQ.
Delivery is free — next day across Dubai and Sharjah, and two to three days to Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain.
And if you're upgrading, you can put your current device toward the new one — see trade-in and buyback.
The short version
A good used phone isn't one that's been repaired well. It's one that never needed repairing, was tested properly, and came with the results published.
That's what we sell, and it's why every product page shows you the battery health, the cosmetic wear, and the diagnostic report for that exact device — before you spend anything.
